Description
Stratom is seeking a versatile individual with professional experience in Machine Learning and team leadership to be a major contributor to our unmanned vehicle and autonomous robotic arm projects. As a growing R&D firm, each team member is asked to wear many hats and contribute in a wide variety of disciplines, so resourcefulness and adaptability are highly valued. Software Engineering:
- Develop, train, and test models for object detection, tracking, classification, and segmentation.
- Using ML approaches to solve autonomous vehicle and other robotic problems
- Understanding of data collection and labeling design and execution
- Experience working with image (visual, IR, etc.) and point cloud data
- Deploying models to embedded hardware, such as the NVIDIA Jetson and similar targets
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.
- Professional development experience with C++ and Python
- Experience with the Robotic Operating System (ROS)
- FOSS libraries, frameworks, and tools that support the development of robotics systems.
- Ability to contribute core engineering skills and expertise in systems engineering, robotics, embedded systems, sensor selection, electrical engineering, and/or software development
- Work with customers and leading teammates to develop operational concepts, system-level requirements, and interface definitions.
- Writing requirements, developing test plans, and completing verification/validation procedures.
- Comfortable working at various levels on a project team and across multiple disciplines
- Domain knowledge in autonomous vehicle sensing technology and perception algorithm development (Images, Point Clouds, etc.)
Engineering Leadership:
- Demonstrated project management, leadership, and people skills
- Ability to guide and provide task prioritization to team members
- Proven ability to grow and develop peers and subordinates
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Minimum 3+ years experience building, training, evaluating, and deploying models. A Bachelor of Science in a relevant Engineering Field (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Robotics) is required. An advanced degree or certification in any of these disciplines is preferred.
Additional Requirements
This position requires the use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
DoD Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
Ability to travel up to 10% for system integrations and prototype demonstrations.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary range of $120,000 – $180,000
