Director of Business Development
As a member of our team, the candidate will lead new business development pursuits in the commercial and DoD market areas, to include identifying best targets of opportunity, employing effective methods of pursuit, and capturing new business possibilities. The candidate will remain involved from the initial pursuit through the proposal preparation, to the contract award.
Job responsibilities include:
- Ability to identify best avenues of pursuit in the commercial and government sectors for new business opportunities
- Understanding of DoD processes, specifically in the R&D areas of SBIRs, BAAs, RFPs, and technology transfer
- Ability to decipher new business capture strategies based on customer requirements
- Position requires honed negotiation skills and proven experience communicating technical, contractual, and financial information to customers
- Providing feedback on best win opportunities, to include aligning partnerships or teaming agreements
- Development and Management of proposals, including both the writing and costing of all sizes and importance
- Proven business development and sales process and skills
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or engineering. Master’s degree (MBA or technical field) preferred
- 10+ years experience in sales or new business
- Understanding of Government-based business or relevant DoD experience required
- Experience and business contacts with the DoD (JGRE, TSWG, DHS, DTRA, AFRL, NAVAIR, SPAWAR), DHS, DOE, and NASA
- Experience with unmanned vehicles and sensors
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, essential
- Ability to interact well with all levels of individuals, from entry-level military to executives to high-level government dignitaries
- Presentation and multimedia skills highly desired
- May require ability to obtain Security Clearance
