Stratom President and CEO Mark Gordon named to CO-LABS Board of Directors
Boulder, Colorado, April 4, 2008 – Mark Gordon, President and CEO of Stratom, Inc. was appointed to the Board of Directors of CO-LABS (Colorado Leveraging Assets to Better Science), a nonprofit consortium of federally funded research laboratories, scientific laboratories, universities, businesses, local governments and legislators that benefit from the work of the labs.
“I am excited to be part of this organization and look forward to providing support and leadership for the initiatives of CO-LABS,” stated Gordon. “It’s important to support organizations like CO-LABS because of their involvement with advancing technology, improving educational opportunities, and enhancing the economy by adding to the local job market.”
A study performed by the Business Research Division of the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business on the economic impact of the state’s federal labs show just how important these types of relationships are. The study found that in 2007 the state’s federal labs and affiliates created $1.11 billion for Colorado in net economic benefit. That number is expected to grow to $1.25 billion in 2008 and $1.55 billion in 2009.
