Stratom Receives Research Contract from Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)
for Force Protection Robotics

Boulder, Colo., October 15, 2007 – Stratom, Inc. recently received a contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory – Airbase Technologies Division (AFRL-RXQ) to support the Robotic Refueling effort for F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (RR-JSF), which will provide 21st century refueling capability for a 21st century aircraft.  This program will design, develop, and implement a robotic system to increase the speed, safety, and repeatability of refueling the F-35.  The technology will be used to develop a complete robotic refueling system for the Air Education & Training Command (AETC) Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) bed at Eglin AFB in Florida. 

Additionally, Stratom will support AFRL-RXQ and the DoD Robotic community to begin standardizing interfaces for unmanned vehicles for existing and future platforms.  Stratom will perform an impact assessment and market survey of the current landscape including: UGV platforms, UGV payloads, interfaces- proprietary and standards, and estimate impacts of standardizing interfaces followed by the development of specific hardware interfaces.
